In this styling session I felt much more confident in creating interesting content through photography. It was definitely much easier to be made since I had more space, clothing, accessories and even friends to help me put my images and ideas together.
I played around with different textures, prints, clothing and footwear to create something that would meet the purpose of presenting my product. At first, I need not meet any of my own expectations, I had created an ideal photoshoot in my head as if I was a professional photographer and already a magazine creative director. Therefore, the first images I think need better planning and styling. Sadly they weren’t what I needed at all for my presentation, I couldn’t represent the aesthetic of my product through them nor could I see my costumer’s identity on it. Nevertheless, I do think that the pictures at the end showed some glamour and turned out nice, just not for this work.
After many attempts to create something that would show my product’s identity and aesthetic into photographies I believe I did a sufficient and even kind of interesting work. It felt almost impossible to translate feelings into a photography for me, especially when they are pictures from an object and not a person, it feels much harder to extract emotions out of it. I think I can improve in that point, that I can work harder to discover and learn a way to express the emotions and feelings a product gives through photography, but in the mean time I am quite satisfied with the work I’ve done. I believe I managed to capture the essence of my costumer and product on it.
