The task of designing a product was for me the must fun but at the same time challenging of all.
I had many ideas I wanted to transform into products, so I did many doodles and sketches from my favourite research material and collages and tried to connect with my costumer. I found the task rather challenging for me because I didn’t felt confident about the connection between my product and my costumer, at the same time it felt like something she would wear it also felt like something to imaginative, to distant from reality.
The doodles were particularly tricky to be made as I couldn’t easily figure out how to put the materia together at first. After a while it felt very easy, like pieces of a puzzle finally finding their way to each other. I started feeling happier with the work I was creating, but still lack confidence that this should be my final work. I believe there is so much I could improve in this particular task, there is so many shapes I could have explored and played with but I didn’t want to take a chance on such an important project.
In the end, I played with the safe option but really liked how my design turned out. I think it translates the research and previous work I have dobe throughout the course and speaks out to my costumer as well. I only wish I could have the confidence to be more bold with my designs.
