Creating a new concept was a challenging task, mainly because there are so many things I would like do to.
My project is a fashionable bag made by reusable couch fabric, the idea actually came from a stain I made in my parents couch. I worked with inspiration from some of my couches and icon like the “Friends” couch.
At first I had put together some shapes drawn from inspiration images formats. I did different shapes some that resembled pentagonal shapes, other more conventional. The conventional formats were easier to work with and resulted in a better final product. The mixed geometrical with other shapes ones did not worked out for a more commercial style or the goal I had in mind, although they are possible to be made just need a little extra work. I actually manage to create what I had envisioned which was fashionable bags that would be easy to style, fun and fashionable.
The usage of fabrics and putting that into drawings was a hard task. I mixed different textures in the first sketches, some were easier to draw than other. The suede turned out beautifully, the details flew with the lines creating a nice work. However, drawing velvet still need an extra work if someday I would like to develop this project further.
The final product was a different fabric which turned out good, but I think would still need a little more extra work on a 2D/3D dimension. The shape also was much better structured, different and easier to work. Finally the concept reached the main point of the task, which made me pleased with my work.
